Elizabeth I, the daughter of Anne Boleyn and King Henry VIII, was the Queen of England and Ireland between 1558 and 1603. When Elizabeth was two, she was declared illegitimate after her mother was beheaded and Henry annulled the marriage.

When her father died, her half brother Edward was crowned King, but he was sickly and died young. He was succeeded by “Bloody Mary,” Henry’s firstborn by Catherine of Aragon, but she too was sickly and died. And just like that, Elizabeth came to be known all over the world as the Virgin Queen, Gloriana and Good Queen Bess. The most famous and successful Queen of England, she was the last of the five monarchs from the House of Tudor.

All Souls Trilogy: Vampire Matthew de Clermont was placed in the English court by his father Philippe. He becomes Queen Elizabeth’s faithful Shadow, her advisor and the super spy used to hunt down Catholics, witches and other potential threats to her throne.

THE READER’S WIKI is a slowly growing collection of glossary/wiki entries where I collect terms from the titles I delve into.

NB! The wiki may contain spoilers – you have been warned. =)

I try to list all the (potentially) new terms as I write my blog posts and link to the wiki page where they are explained. Linked words are always this colour and underscored.

Let me know if the word/concept you’re looking for isn’t there and I’ll try to add it as soon as I can.
