To every bold fool who ever made a bracelet out of rope and called it love.
To the stories we nearly threw away, and the souls we nearly missed.
May the sea always tie us back together.
࿐ ࿔*˖𓇼 DESCRIPTION 𓇼˖*࿔࿐
Captain Maribelle Silver commands the Night Wind with strength and certainty. She’s feared across Concordia’s waves, but her confident exterior hides a heart scarred by unspoken longing.
Quartermaster Yoana Krakow joined the Night Wind seeking freedom, but found herself tied by feelings she never thought she’d dare confess.
When a pair of carefully knotted bracelets create confusion aboard the pirate brigantine, misunderstandings unravel like frayed rope. Now, our two seasoned pirates must brave the uncharted waters of vulnerability and truth.
Set against a backdrop of salt-sprayed decks, spirited crew wagers, and star-drenched horizons, this is a story of the quiet courage required to reach for the love that’s already there by your side.

The Night Wind was a swift brigantine, sleek and responsive, with a reputation that struck fear into merchant vessels throughout Concordia. Once upon a time, she had done the same, but that was before her thoughts became occupied with the quiet war raging inside her.
“Methinks Cap’n wants her rum,” Old Samuel muttered, pausing to squint at her with his one good eye.
The aging bosun had served with Maribelle since she’d first claimed the Wind in a bloody midnight raid off the Southern Reach. He knew both their moods and tells better than most.
“Or maybe she’s dreaming of a certain Quartermaster’s company, eh?” He grinned, revealing the gold tooth he’d won in a game of Tides Turn. “Don’t fret, Silver. Half the crew’s bettin’ on you cracking before the end of the week. The rest of ’em says it’ll be her.”
She glared at him, but he just chuckled, humming a sea shanty the founders of Freshwater Bay had made famous: “A heart as true as a compass needle, a love as wild as the winter tides…”
It was one of the crew’s favourite Noctport tunes. You’d think pirates lived for shanties of monsters and glory, but you’d be wrong. There was something about a good love song that could warm even the most hardened sailor’s heart. And above all, they liked the one about the legendary captain who loved so fiercely her ship outran the wind itself.
Indeed, they said, Jill Starling could sail her ship upside down beneath the waves, so long as that scoundrel she loved played their song on the bones. Maribelle had no time for such fantasies. She had always dismissed this tale as a drunkard’s yarn, but now… Now, she wondered. Could love change even the most basic rules of sea and sky?
“Tell Cookie I’ll have tea in my quarters,” she told him, knowing Old Samuel would understand this to mean she wanted solitude, not spirits.
As he shuffled away, Maribelle’s eyes drifted inevitably toward the foredeck, where the Quartermaster stood with her sextant raised to the sky. The way the tall figure silhouetted against the glowing horizon sent a familiar ache through her chest.

I’m not crying – it’s sea spray. Five stars.

Finally! Took them long enough. Three bets lost, worth every penny.

Could have used more cannons, fewer feelings.
★★☆☆☆ Suspiciously Mermaid-like Passenger
Okay, I guess, but I prefer stories with mermaids.
