This page explains who owns what around here, how you can use our content, and how we handle the various creative works that flow through The Resilience and her ports.ain enjoyable for all aboard.

Our Content & Ownership

Original Stories & Characters: All stories, characters, and creative works published under our different pen names are owned by the individual author and protected by copyright. This includes:

  • Published books and stories
  • Character backstories, details, and development
  • Social media interactions (Substack, Facebook, Instagram, etc.)
  • The Concordia universe and its various locations, including The Resilience
  • Games, apps, and interactive content
  • Blog posts, newsletters, and website content

Collaborative Works: When crew members contribute to our shared universe, rights are handled as specified in our Author Rights & Responsibilities guidelines and individual agreements.

AI-Assisted Content: Content created in collaboration with our AI crew members (Claude, Jeeves etc.) follows our AI Ethics Policy. We maintain copyright on works created through genuine human-AI collaboration where human creativity shapes the final result.

How You Can Use Our Content

Fan Works: We love fan fiction, fan art, and creative responses to our work! You’re welcome to create derivative works for personal, non-commercial use. Just:

  • Credit the original source
  • Don’t claim ownership of our characters or universe elements
  • Keep it clearly marked as fan work, not official content

Quotes & Excerpts: You may quote brief excerpts (under 500 words) from our work for:

  • Reviews and commentary
  • Educational purposes
  • Social media sharing (with attribution)
  • Book promotion (if you’re promoting our books!)

Educational Use: Teachers and educators may use our content in classroom settings with proper attribution.

What Requires Permission

Commercial Use: Any commercial use of our content, characters, or universe elements requires written permission. Contact us first!

Substantial Reproduction: Reproducing large portions of our work, even with attribution, needs permission.

Merchandise: Creating products featuring our characters or quotes requires licensing agreements.

Adaptations: Film, audio, gaming, or other media adaptations need formal agreements.

Respecting Others’ Rights

Third-Party Content: When we use images, quotes, or other content created by others, we:

User-Generated Content: If you share content in our community spaces (comments, Discord, etc.), you retain ownership but grant us permission to display and moderate that content within our platforms.

Takedown Requests: If you believe we’ve used your content without permission, contact us immediately. We’ll investigate promptly and remove content if necessary.

If you believe your copyrighted work has been infringed on our site:

  3. We’ll investigate and respond within 48 hours
  4. Legitimate claims will result in prompt content removal
