Using her knack for storytelling, she also brings a wide range of difficult and diverse topics to the table. Matters close to her heart include funkophobia, social exclusion, chafing societal norms, mental & physical health issues, racism, poverty, identity, creativity, sexuality, nerdiness, a zest for Life and yearning for death.
Prematurely retired due to disability and a non-functioning immune system, Evalena would argue that, all things considered, she’s a pretty useless person these days. She sucks at most things hoomins are supposed to be able to, but she does have a few useful skills: creating shit, selling shit, sorting shit out, making shit up, and getting shit done. This served her well during her professional years, and although she’s no longer able to work, or meet other people, she still takes great pleasure in utilising her skills and sharing experience from the relative safety of her bed.
When she’s not busy writing, Evalena enjoys coaching budding writers and hanging out with the campers in the New Paris Commune or the greater writing community. The dream is to be able to buy a van or RV and become a full-time digital nomad.
