MY GREATEST FEAR

DAILY WRITING PROMPTS 9

MY GREATEST fear… Now, isn’t that an interesting question to be faced with right now?

If I were to be locked into a room with my greatest fear there are only two possible scenarios:

1) The room is full of snakes, spiders and other creepy crawlies. In which case I’m already dead. There’s just no way I’d live through that.

2) I’m all alone. Locked up in a room and cut off from family, friends and any other human interaction. Which is pretty much exactly the reality I’ve been living in since the 15th March 2020. Because I’ve got a crappy immune system, I’ve had to stay in shielding to avoid getting COVID. I’ve got my youngest son living with me as my assistant/carer, but I haven’t seen the rest of my family since the start of the pandemic. And it hurts. Unlike COVID, or scenario 1 above, it doesn’t kill you though, so there’s that.

How about you?

– If you were to be locked up with your greatest fear – what would be in that room?

Let’s talk! Please, share the links to your posts using today’s prompt in the comments below.

See you tomorrow,

For me, it is the empty room. I tried the spiders long ago. I lived in a tent. They kept moving in with me. In the end I got tired of evicting them, so we just learned to be friends. Exposure therapy. A room full of spiders eventually ceases to be an issue. I’d prefer a room full of snakes, but they are harder to come by. The empty room is the worst, unless you don’t really have anything you want to do, then it’s fine, but if you actually have plans, then an empty room is incredibly frustrating. Simply having to wait, while your plans are not accomplished. That is like death, except it doesn’t stop. At least with spiders, you would have company. I call all spiders Björk these days, it makes them seem much more personable.
